If you want to have a family foundation, using Kitsap Community Foundation as your family foundation is most likely the best way to achieve your goals. The Community Foundation’s professional staff, including a nonprofit attorney, can be your staff for your family foundation.  Even though it will be administered by the Community Foundation, your family foundation will be called whatever you want, such as the “Sarah and John Smith Family Foundation.”  As long as they are legal and in furtherance of charitable purposes, all donations made from your foundation will be made to the nonprofits you want, when you want, in your name.
