Breaking Barriers: KCF's Simplified Grant Cycle Opens Doors for Local Nonprofits

Grant Cycle Opening Soon

Kitsap Community Foundation, along with the Women’s Giving Circle of the Kitsap Peninsula and the Kitsap Racial Equity and Empowerment Fund, invites nonprofit organizations to submit applications for an aligned community grant cycle.

In an effort to make things easier for local nonprofits, the three grant cycles have been aligned to lower the barriers for funding for those serving charitable missions in our community.

Tina O’Brien, CEO of Kitsap Community Foundation, says the foundation has simplified the process so everyone can apply. “We know not everyone is a professional grant writer. Often folks get intimidated when applying for grants, and we recognize a lot of the organizations applying are volunteer-based.”

During this grant cycle, requests for unrestricted funds and help with specific projects are welcome. O'Brien added that the grant request does not need to cover the full cost of a project. “Sometimes, project organizers need only partial funding to get the job done.”

The link to the grant application is available online at www.kitsapfoundation.org/apply-for-a-grant. Applications open on Monday, August 19th, and are due by 5pm on Monday, September 16th. Late submissions will not be accepted. Applicants may contact Lillian Xie, Program Associate, Grants & Special Initiatives, via email or by phone at (360) 698-3622 if they have additional questions.

Funding for these grants has largely been donated by local individuals and families who wanted to create a meaningful legacy for their community.
