The 12th Annual Kitsap Great Give is almost here!
The Kitsap Great Give is a 24-hour giving event that unites our community in support of the many nonprofit organizations that make Kitsap a great place to live.
In a single day, individuals, businesses, and organizations will invest over a million dollars in a wide variety of causes that are important to them. Last year, the event generated $1.46 million from 3,323 donors through 6,844 gifts to support 363 local nonprofit organizations.
Since its inception in 2014, this annual movement of generosity—presented by the Kitsap Community Foundation—has raised more than $17 million for the community.
Why Should Everyone Participate in the Kitsap Great Give?
The Kitsap Great Give is more than a fundraising event—it’s a community-wide celebration of generosity. Whether you give, share, volunteer, or help spread the word, you are part of something bigger: a movement that strengthens local nonprofits and the people they serve.
With over 330 participating nonprofit organizations, the Kitsap Great Give supports nonprofits of all sizes and missions—from those providing essential services to our most vulnerable neighbors to those enriching our lives through education, the arts, environmental stewardship, and community-building efforts. Every organization plays a vital role in creating a thriving community, and every contribution—big or small—makes a difference. Every gift counts. Every dollar makes a difference.
Among the participating organizations, many are on the frontlines serving the most vulnerable in our community. Others focus on youth development and education, animal welfare, environmental protection, and community enrichment. Forty-seven percent of participating nonprofits have no paid staff and rely entirely on volunteers. Additionally, one in three gifts go to organizations addressing basic human needs, making this event a critical source of support for those most in need.
Even if you don’t consider yourself a “donor,” you can still be a champion for local nonprofits. Encourage friends and family to participate, share the event on social media, or find a nonprofit that aligns with your passions. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the region we all call home.
How the Kitsap Great Give Amplifies Impact
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donor support is amplified. Sponsors not only make the event possible by helping to underwrite costs, but they also provide additional funds to increase the impact of every donation through incentive challenges and bonus gifts.
The Kitsap Great Give is also one of the most efficient ways to give. The “cost to raise a dollar” is just $0.12—far lower than the average for most special fundraising events—ensuring that more funds go directly to nonprofits.

So, How Exactly Does It Work?
The Kitsap Great Give is our community’s annual day of giving. For 24 hours on Tuesday, March 11 – from 12:00am to 11:59pm – anyone, from anywhere, can go to KitsapGreatGive.org and review the profiles of hundreds of local nonprofits registered for the event. All participating nonprofits are 501(c)(3) charities based in or serving Kitsap or surrounding areas (e.g., Belfair and Gig Harbor). The website allows donors to search organizations by name or category, location, annual revenue, BIPOC leadership, and BIPOC serving so that you can find causes you care about and donate to as many of them as you would like – all in a single transaction! The minimum donation is $10; there is no maximum, and all donations qualify as fully tax-deductible as allowable by law. Best of all, it is totally free for local nonprofits to participate!
If, for some reason, individuals can’t join us on March 11, the special website KitsapGreatGive.org opens on March 1 for “Early Giving” to help all participating nonprofits raise even more funds and support their vital work. Should a donor wish to make a gift of stock, they can call (360) 698-3622. Kitsap Community Foundation will process the donation right away. On March 11, everyone can go to KitsapGreatGive.org and track how their favorite nonprofits are doing via the event Leaderboard, which tracks a running total of the online giving results in real-time.
